How long have you been with PEP now, and how long in the industry?
I started with PEP 7.5 years ago. I didn’t have much SW experience before that, but I did strip for a few months way back when, so I suppose you’d say I have 8 years experience total.
How did you get started in the adult industry AND/OR how did you first connect with kink/BDSM communities?
I had a friend who was stripping and suggested I do it with her. We were trying to make some quick money before we moved out of state, which is what we did. I didn’t like it very much for several reasons, but the biggest one is that I felt like to be successful I needed to be predatory (in an unpleasant way). My job was to figure out which guy in the room had the most money and was most willing to part with it, and how to pursue him and part him from his money. I suppose some people may enjoy that, in real life or in fantasy, but I wasn’t one of them. I much prefer what I do now, which is way more collaborative.
I can’t really say too much about my first connection with kink—it was strictly fantasy for a long time. I was kinky way before what I knew what the word “‘kinky” meant. When I had my first sexual and romantic experiences, the people I chose seemed to be vanilla. But as for connecting with the wider world, I got together with a guy who was also kinky. He was a bastard, but he did introduce me to the social kink scene in my area. At my first party, I said to him, “Look, I understand liking bondage and I understand liking domination. But why would people enjoy being hit with things?” And a man drifted over and asked, “Would you like me to show you?”
I said yes.
And discovered, very quickly, that being hit with things IS AWESOME. He turned me into a naked pink and red giggling mess. I am now pretty good at hitting people with things, and also pretty good at getting hit with things.
How did you know sex work was the right path for you?
You know those guys who like degradation? Well, it’s like I wake up every morning and the customer is always wrong. That can be a perk, if I’m in the right mood.
But seriously. I don’t know that sex work is the ‘right path’ for me, but I know it’s certainly not the wrong one. I’ve worked a lot of jobs and tried a lot of different things, and at the end of the day, if you can say you feel like you didn’t hurt anyone, maybe you even helped someone in a substantive way, and you certainly made them feel better, at least temporarily, by doing something you’re probably better at than most people? That’s amazing, and you really can’t say that most jobs tick those boxes.
If you could have a secret power for ONE day, what would it be and why?
My secret power would be the ability to bestow powers. I would spend the day granting good people cool powers. I would give cats the ability to catch the red dot, auditors the ability to ferret out corruption and waste, techbros the ability to scrub fossil fuels from the air, and everyone the ability to make others feel genuinely loved. That sort of thing.
Why? Because that’s what I want to see in the world.
